Common Ravens have been confirmed as breeders on nearby Saint George Island but to date are not known to breed on Saint Paul. Apparently they are resident on Saint George, and will occasionally find their way to Saint Paul where they will persist for a year or two before disappearing. The local Aleuts regard Ravens as omens of bad luck, which likely does not aid the species’ quest to become resident on Saint Paul. Look for Ravens mainly across the western half of the island, especially from town along the coast west to the base of Rush Hill.
